Organization Chart Revision
An organization’s chart design determines how efficiently the processes and tasks of an organization are conducted. Proper designing of the organizational structure can determine how well a company implements its strategies (David & David, 2017). The following is a revision of the Dell Technologies organization chart to improve the company’s strategy.

Current Dell Technologies Chart
The current organizational chart for Dell Technologies is a matrix structure. The company is led by the Chairman and CEO, Michael Dell, but the rest of the company is split into several other divisions. Each of the divisions is responsible for a different category of products that the company offers; the above chart summarizes some of the main divisions of the company and their leaders. Dell will need to make a few changes in its structure to improve its strategic position in the market. The following revised organizational chart represents the recommended company structure changes:

Revised Dell Technologies Chart
The new organization chart for Dell Technologies still maintains a matrix structure. It is important that the organization is divided in this manner because of the diversification of its products. A matrix organizational structure is one that is divided into several departments, which are managed almost as separate business units (Zheng et al., 2010). However, all the department heads still report to the CEO of the company.
The main change in the matrix structure is the addition of two main divisions to the company; marketing and research and development. These two departments have been added based on the strategies that were recommended for the company. Most of the strategies were focused on market penetration and development. The company must make more investments in a larger marketing department. The marketing department will ensure that the different products developed in the company’s divisions reach the targeted consumers. The other addition to the company is the research and development department. One of the main strategic limitations of the company was its inability to develop innovative products in time to compete with other companies in the market. Therefore, a research and development department will be a good addition to the company to increase its competitive advantage. This division can help to improve the company’s ability to adapt to new technologies or even be the first to develop new technologies that competitors can adapt to.
