Coaches have the power to implement their coaching philosophies, and such powers can be asserted during the contract signing. Before signing contracts, coaches must agree with club owners on how they can work together to attain talent development coherence. As a result, one of the strategies that may come in handy is for coaches to highlight their terms of engagement and include their input in player development decision-making. Besides, a coach should have a say on which players to sell or retain to ensure coherent and chronological talent development. Coaches who are concerned about the short-term nature of their contracts should instead stick to long-term player development as their fundamental coaching philosophy.

As a talent development/academy-level coach, I anticipate facing some controversies due to the nature of sports at that level. First, the issue of ethics of rigorous training may arise.
