Web-Learning refers to flexible learning through innovative technologies. Today, web learning has created new possibilities integrated into instructional materials and delivered over a long distance (Wang & Reeves, 2017). Online learning promotes learning by encouraging students to take control of their learning, increasing their commitment to studying. According to research by Wang & Reeves (2017), the virtual world represents new possibilities enriching the learning environment because students can access information anytime. Therefore, this research proposal aims to examine the impact web learning has on student achievement and motivation.

In this research, I intend to handle the impact of web-based learning on students’ achievement and motivation. However, my major focus will be on how online learning boosts a learner’s motivation, improving their academic performance. My interest in this area stemmed from watching my siblings interact and learn with their peers through web-based platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, I have watched my college friends further their education by taking online courses. The impact is that most students engaging in learning through modern technologies tend to be more motivated (Wang & Reeves, 2017). They make personal decisions about their learning, hence showing high levels of motivation and improved performance. By analyzing how web learning motivates learners to make decisions about their studies, I will be able to help policymakers develop strategies to integrate web-based learning in various institutions of learning.

Online learning helps to facilitate continuity of education even when students cannot interact physically with their peers and teachers (Gamon, 2019). The most fascinating thing about this topic is that it has drawn the attention of most learning institutions today because it is widespread worldwide. However, it is equally crucial to emphasize that while technology can help with education, it cannot fix the issue of literacy on its own (Tsai et al, 2020). The usefulness of educational technology lies in the instructor’s ability to incorporate technologies and meet the needs of all students (Wang & Reeves,2017). Therefore, research will demonstrate that web learning is an advancement today. Hence, policymakers should come up with ways to implement it and ensure it serves the right benefits to the learners.
