Talent Management Plan For Pilots

This movie revolves around a woman, Maryanne Walker, her abusive husband, Daniel, and their two children. Maryann and her children are subjected to the violent and temper outbursts of Daniel. They decide to hide their identities to protect themselves from Daniel and from the law system that seems to favor men’s rights and overlook women’s rights in society. However, Maryann is forced to come out of her hiding and confront her enemy. She speaks before the court, the press, and the whole community about the injustices and the law that seems to support domestic violence. Do you need urgent assignment help ? According to social exchange theory, how individuals feel regarding their relationship depends on their views of the rewards they get, their views on the costs they incur, their opinion on what type of relationship they deserve, and the possibility that they might find a better relationship with another person (Aronson et al., 2016). In the movie, Maryann and Daniel seem to be affectionate in the park until a neighbor passes by and touches Maryann’s hand in a friendly manner. Daniel snaps and becomes aggressive with Maryann. Consequently, Maryann doubts whether she wants to stay with Daniel, especially after he repeatedly battered her and sent her to the hospital. Maryann’s decision to leave is based on her evaluation of the rewards, costs, and comparison level, as highlighted by Aronson et al. (2016).

The attraction factors present in Maryann and Daniel’s relationship are commitment, passion, and reciprocity. Reis & Aron (2008) argue that passionate love is mostly linked with large swings in negative and positive moods. He adds that in passionate love in an ongoing relationship, loss, jealousy, abandonment, violence, and rejection are common and significant. In this case, Maryann probably stayed with an abusive husband because she feared her children would lack. After all, she had no job, and Daniel was financially stable as an architect. Thus, she was getting financial support as she gave her service and wife duties to Daniel in reciprocity. Her commitment to this relationship is shown by her decision not to leave in the first instance because she believed her life was with Daniel.

The type of love shared between these two is passionate love because it is based on moods. Daniel is involved in relational aggression, which refers to harming another person via relationship manipulation, spreading false statements about the target individual, excluding the target person, and backbiting (Aronson et al., 2016). In this movie, Daniel sees his wife being touched by the neighbor and turns from giving her affection to being hostile. When he realizes that Maryann and the children want to stay away from him for a while, he changes the house locks and cuts her off. He also lies to the children about her and threatens her. All of these show the characteristics of relational aggression, which stem from passionate love guided by a person’s moods, as Reis & Aron (2008) contend.
