During the global recession, Starbucks attempted to utilize an expansion strategy. This strategy only brought it close to its fall due to unsustainability. Its stock lost at least half of its value during this time. The company’s future was largely uncertain. Starbuck’s mission is “Sourcing, roasting, and serving high-quality coffee will remain our core, but we are also pursuing sustainable, profitable growth with a more diversified, multichannel and multibrand business model” (Starbucks Corporation: The New S-Curves, 2017, 2017). The main issues affecting the company’s performance included inconsistent products, high costs of operations, poor quality, and low margins.

The primary stakeholders of Starbucks include the employees who work in different positions to ensure the delivery of the mission. The clients are also important stakeholders because they purchase the products that the company sells, leading to revenue generation.
