Paragraph #1 (Original paragraph, copied and pasted from scholarly journal):
The struggle to expand the ambit of feminism beyond a narrow focus on inequality within the household to include the larger macroeconomic, environmental, and political structures and processes that affect women’s lives, livelihoods, work, and survival, among other things, as well as public policies shaping gender equality and women’s rights, is not new. It can be traced back to at least the UN Third World Conference on Women (Nairobi in 1984) and, in some forms, even earlier. Currently, although the struggle has not ended, the more significant presence and voice of women from the global South (and from the South within the North) and the evidence they have brought to global arenas have worked to increase recognition that more significant structural issues, for example, tax policies or the Law of the Sea, are as central to feminist concerns as violence against women or inequality within households.
Paraphrase for Paragraph #1 above:
The struggle to broaden the scope of feminism goes beyond addressing inequality within households. It focuses on the broader economic, environmental, and political structures that impact women’s lives, work, and rights. This struggle has existed since at least the UN Third World Conference on Women in 1984, possibly earlier. While the struggle continues, the increased presence and voices of women from the global South, including those within the North, have led to a greater recognition that feminist concerns encompass more significant structural issues such as tax policies and international laws. These issues are just as crucial as addressing violence against women and household inequality (Sen, 2019).
Paragraph #2 (Original paragraph, copied and pasted from scholarly journal):
Women’s empowerment is a multifaceted concept that encompasses a wide range of issues related to gender equality,  women’s rights,  and social justice. In recent years,  there has been a growing interest in the academic literature on women’s empowerment,  and numerous studies have been conducted to explore different aspects of this phenomenon. One important aspect of women’s empowerment is economic empowerment. Women’s participation in the labor force is widely recognized as a critical factor in promoting economic growth and reducing poverty. According to a study by  Kabeer and  Mahmud  (2004), women’s economic empowerment can lead to increased income,  improved nutrition and health,  and greater decision-making power within the household. In addition,  women’s economic empowerment can positively impact the broader community by promoting gender equality and reducing gender-based discrimination.
Paraphrase for Paragraph #2, above:
Women’s empowerment is a complex concept that encompasses various issues related to gender equality, women’s rights, and social justice. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in academic research focused on women’s empowerment, leading to numerous studies investigating different aspects of this phenomenon. One crucial aspect is economic empowerment, which recognizes the importance of women’s workforce involvement in promoting economic growth and reducing poverty. Research by Kabeer and Mahmud (2004) indicates that economic empowerment can result in higher income, improved nutrition and health, and increased decision-making power within households for women. Moreover, women’s economic empowerment can have a broader positive impact on society by promoting gender equality and decreasing gender-based discrimination (Reshi & Sudha, 2022).
