A portfolio can offer an employer vital information about a job candidate. One of the things I think an employer would be looking for in my portfolio is my resume. A resume is an important part of a portfolio because it provides background information about the owner of the portfolio. The resume can help employers understand my work and academic background, licenses, achievements, and skills. The second thing an employer would look for in my portfolio is written work. A portfolio may contain any written work I have shared online or in the academic setting, such as research papers and articles. These works can help the employer understand my understanding of the concepts reviewed in the written work and whether I can apply them in the work environment. The third thing an employer would look for in my portfolio would be any presentations I have made and the content of my presentations. Accessing my presentations can help the employer assess my proficiency in PowerPoint and my capability to create a formal and good presentation in the job setting.
The abovementioned elements are important in convincing an employer to consider me for vacant jobs. Therefore, it would be essential to include them in my portfolio. It would also be important to include the elements because they will help me share as much information about myself as possible with potential employers and make it easier for me to plan for interviews by anticipating what the employer may ask based on what I have provided in the portfolio. For instance, I can prepare to answer questions about my presentations and written works and offer more information to convince potential employers about my expertise.
