Organizational Effectiveness
In your own words, define organizational effectiveness and how it is measured?
Organizational effectiveness is an organization’s efficiency in meeting all or some of its objectives. Hence, this implies that a company that manages to produce the desired results without any wastage is very effective (Gregory et al., 2009). It involves every individual performing well in their areas of specialization with minimal expenditure of time, finances, human resources, and energy. Mainly, it is measured by the organization’s profitability compared to the targeted profitability. Other ways to measure the effectiveness of an organization include customer survey results as well as the growth data of the organization.
This week, identify three questions you would ask during your interview. Would the answer to those questions from the interviewers change your thoughts about working for the organization (FEMA)?
The first question I would ask in my interview at FEMA is what my day-to-day responsibilities would be upon being hired. This would be my chance to find out as much as possible concerning my role to decide if it is the job that I want. The second question would be what were considered the essential qualities of excellence in the role so that I can learn about the company’s culture and expectations so that I can know if I am a good fit. The final question is what my employers expect from me in the first month, sixty days, and one year.
