Maria Montessori’s technique of instructing kids is dependent on the liberty concept of the learner (Montessori et al., 2017). Montessori’s ideas have suggested solutions to some of the problems I have recognized. For instance, one of my friend’s children is a slow learner, and consequently, it is difficult for her to learn at the pace of other students. As such, she does not understand most of the things in class. However, when a private tutor was hired to teach her, she understood nearly everything and performed well in various subjects. Notably, Montessori education distinguishes that kids learn in varying ways and includes all learning methods. This concept applies to the problem my friend’s child had. The private tutor applied a unique learning strategy effective to the kid’s needs.

Moreover, Montessori education concepts also indicate that learners are free to learn at their personal speed, with each progressing through the curriculum whenever ready. This is with the instructor’s guidance and an individualized learning plan. Since the child is a slow learner, Montessori’s ideas allow her to learn at her own pace with the tutor’s guidance. The private tutor had an individualized learning plan for the student. Additionally, participating in hands-on learning helped the child’s learning. It is worth noting that Maria Montessori was convinced that kids learn effectively once they do things for themselves (Montessori, 2004). Accordingly, the private instructor incorporated many practical and engaging activities in the learning process. Another problem is that unfavorable learning environments affect children negatively. Therefore, Montessori’s concept of providing teacher-curate environments is a great solution. Typically, the freedom the Montessori strategy offers merely works if the setting is conducive and secure to learning.
