How to Stay Organized to Ensure Deadlines/Goals are Met
Time management is critical to any business’s success or meeting educational objectives. I employ online and manual time management methods to track tasks and time. First, I use such programs as Google Calendar to plan my workload and Trello and Asana to organize tasks (Liyanage et al.). They give me an outline to organize my timetable effectively, alarms for specific meetings, and the ability to divide considerable tasks into several with deadlines. This structure enables me to avoid occasions where some details may not be noticed due to so much focus on other aspects of the task.
Besides using digital applications, I keep a paper notebook where I write down ideas, list what to accomplish daily, and put down strategies to achieve long-term plans. These steps give a good feeling of productivity as I do the check marks for completed activities and make sure I am on track. I also used daily, weekly, or monthly objectives to remain on track toward my general objectives and serve as a motivation. Another part of my organization strategy is regularly updating my progress status. I evaluate my productivity daily and once a week and determine where I may have made progress and where I need to focus more effort. It is also useful for me in a reflective way as I become more aware of myself, and if there are any issues, I become ready to rearrange plans. By so doing, I avoid being reactive and adhere to timelines to produce deliverables, thus maintaining productivity and focusing on achieving goals.
Methods I Would Use to Ensure Effective Communication
Communication is one of the most critical elements regarding teams and organizations in general. I use several strategies to minimize the instances and impacts of ineffective communication. First, I listen – which means actively perceiving any discourse. Listening actively to the other person without interruption and asking probing questions, I can comprehend their position to respond correctly. Not only does it create a positive attitude towards each other, but it also helps to avoid possible disputes (Tennant et al.).
Another approach I use is making differences in the expectations of each mode of communication. For instance, I employ email for traditional and official purposes, project management tools for sharing project input updates, such as Trello, and quick and informal communication software like Slack. In this way, I ensure that the team members understand which types of information can be found in which channel and can get updates easily. Consistently, feedback is critical to the communication process and is employed in my communication plan. I occasionally get feedback from my team to ensure they agree with my messages and what they think about the changes. This may be as mundane as recapping a discussion after a meeting or following up an organization’s meeting by sending emails to confirm what has been agreed on.
Subsequently, I insist on clear and comprehensive messages. Whether communicating goals, plan modifications, or project progress reports, I try to be straightforward to strengthen the trust between colleagues. Through these techniques, I promote open communication; everyone is informed and encouraged to achieve common objectives.
