One of the things I have learned from the video is that corruption may be a good thing as long as the underlying law is bad. For example, organizations may use corruption to sustain themselves when the laws regulating their operations create unfair competition. In business environments dominated by large government agencies or individuals linked to the government, there may be unfair regulations aimed at protecting the interests of the government agencies or the individuals linked to the government. This may prompt small businesses to pay bribes so that they can continue operating and generating profit. In such instances, corruption is good because it supports the sustainability of companies. The second thing I have learned from the video is that corruption is not only about offering bribes and embezzling resources but also about misusing authority. Many corruption cases focus on the embezzlement of funds, thus creating an impression that corruption is only about the misuse of funds. Therefore, other forms of corruption, such as nepotism and abuse of power and authority, are ignored despite their major impact on organizations and the business environment. The video demonstrates that it is important to view corruption from different dimensions to determine whether it is good or bad.
