Constructive Thought

Constructive Thought

Constructive thoughts among leaders refer to the ability of leaders to innovate and contemplate issues creatively in the best interest of an organization. I agree that when leaders embrace constructive thoughts, they stand a better chance to foster success and productivity in their organizations. Various reasons can be cited as to why constructive thoughts work to the benefit of an organization. First, when leaders embrace constructive thoughts, they encourage and enable collaborations in the workplace environment. According to Arasli et al. (2020), although success can be drawn from single geniuses, more creativity can be created when thoughts are drawn from multiple contributions. Thus, constructive thought leads to collaborations that lead to innovations that create inventions that drive organizational success.

Second, when leaders engage in constructive thoughts, they manage to tap ideas from all ranks within their organizations. According to Sayyadi (2022), Google Inc., one of the most successful technology organizations, has succeeded by recognizing and considering ideas that arise from all ranks in the organization. Arguably, through constructive thoughts, leaders grant executive ideas to employees throughout the organization without support from above, which indicates that constructive reasoning breaks the bureaucracy, which denies employees within an organization the opportunity to act with autonomy. Third, constructive thoughts within organizations open them to diverse perspectives. Organizational success becomes easier to achieve when people from different disciplines, areas of expertise, and backgrounds share their thinking (Siangchokyoo et al., 2020). In the same study, it is argued that the complexity of various organizational issues sometimes requires a diversity of disciplines. Through constructive thought, it is possible to combine such disciplines and make it easier to solve complex issues within organizations, thus making it possible for organizations to attain success through constructive thinking among leaders.
