Bella’s – A Case in Organizational Behavior

Bella’s – A Case in Organizational Behavior

Based on the information provided in the case study, it is evident that employees at Bella’s are not performing as expected. The underperformance could be attributed to a lack of motivation. I would, therefore, change the company’s performance management system. Performance management plays a vital role in improving the general performance of a company by facilitating adaptability and motivating employees. An effective performance management system should include setting goals, offering reviews and feedback, offering opportunities to learn more in an employee’s field, and rewarding employees with the best performance. I would introduce an effective performance measurement tool to ensure that the performance of all employees is closely monitored. I would also set goals and ensure that employees understand their rewards after completing these goals. I would customize the goals to ensure that they are realistic and achievable. I would increase employee satisfaction by introducing flexible work schedules. According to Davidescu et al. (2020), work flexibility gives employees a balance between their personal and professional lives, leading to higher performance and job satisfaction. The main change would, however, be introducing targets that every employee should meet. This approach would work because employees would be motivated to work harder to meet their target hence increasing their performance. This approach would also help the employees feel good about the company and their jobs because they would be rewarded for meeting their targets. Assessing the performance of employees based on their ability to meet targets will also make it easier to reward employees appropriately. John (2010) argues that giving employees feedback about their performance can be used as a coaching strategy to improve employee performance. It additionally helps them identify their strengths and weaknesses and the causes of poor performance.
