Elizabeth, William, Bob, Elizabeth, Ian, and Tiffany have diverse work cultures, but they are a perfect fit for the company. One of the leading factors for their motivation is their vast experience in the company (Wlodarczyk, 2011). Each of them has worked for the company for at least 2 years. Besides, the nature of leadership impacts the selected employees’ productivity. Among other functions, team leaders are expected to guide their followers toward achieving organizational goals. Also, workplace relationships impact a team’s performance (Wlodarczyk, 2011). In addition, all of the selected employees prefer to work in teams.

One of the top motivations for this team is recognition and praise. Leaders should recognize the team’s efforts and remind them that it is important towards achieving the company’s goals. The management should also provide perks to top performers. Perks can be in the form of direct rewards or profit-sharing (Wlodarczyk, 2011). Another strategy is to provide regular breaks. Breaks will help employees like Tiffany who hurry through tasks to save time for social engagements.

Why do you think they will work?

Recognizing and praising employees makes them feel valued and appreciated. The motivation strategy also makes them feel like part of the organizational goals, hence will work towards their realization (Wlodarczyk, 2011). On the other hand, offering employees perks will encourage them to exploit their full potential. As a result, the company’s profit margin will increase.

What motivational strategies does the management team think would be ineffective for this team? Why?

One of the motivation strategies that have proved ineffective is only rewarding success. It ignores other aspects like innovation, although this may motivate those rewarded to perform even better (Wlodarczyk, 2011). The strategy also leaves out the majority of the employees. The management should also consider other motivation strategies apart from money. Depending on bonuses and other monetary rewards as a sole motivation strategy will not significantly increase productivity.
