My assessment of Vietnam Textiles Inc. shows that the company was operating legally and morally. Notably, this agreement was reached after considering the company’s answers during the visit. When questions were asked regarding various aspects of morality and ethics, they were answered thoroughly and appropriately. Companies like the one described in the scenario have a history of employing young people as laborers. Thus, some of the questions presented to the company were not well-informed and led to inquiries in the wrong direction. When handling workplace issues related to ethics and morality, there is a need to ensure there is no kind of bias. Inquiries should be focused on avoiding conclusions that are not based on facts. Arriving at the conclusion I made regarding the morality and legality of the company, various relevant facts from the scenario were used.

First, the company has been operating for more than twenty years and has maintained trust with different partners. Notably, this could not have been the case without questionable ethical and moral issues. Second, I performed an ethical inquiry by asking Carol follow-up questions regarding young laborers and an additional question regarding Vietnam laws since it was mentioned that it was common for suppliers to have young laborers. Finally, Carol’s explanation of labor laws and wages helps comprehend the scenario. The review compares similar companies from different countries. It is fair to review the case to check for compliance with existing regulations, as it should be done in all countries (Nelkin & Pereboom, 2022). In conclusion, the basis of my moral position is the mutual respect held in the conversation and the clarity of labor laws.
