Through collaboration, nurse educators are able to establish healthy working relationships with their patients and other healthcare providers (Satoh et al., 2020). This will enable the patient to open up on their health concerns. The collaboration will also allow the nurse educator to tap into the expertise of other caregivers, leveraging their skills in disease prevention and management. One area where collaboration is essential for nurse educators is when engaging cross-cultural groups. The nurse educator, in this case, must be able to establish a long-standing and trusting relationship with the client by utilizing their collaborative skills. This will help improve the outcomes of the patients.
Innovation and openness to newer ideas and thought processes (Gebreheat et al., 2023). Nurse educators recognize apparent diversities and differences in the preferences among their clients. In this case, they must be able to come up with individualized care plans for their patients, innovative solutions that meet their patient’s needs, and be willing to embrace their client’s ideas and thoughts on their suffering. It allows them to understand what their patients are telling them. Likewise, it helps build trust between the nurse and the patients, as the patients feel valued and respected when they are listened to. In cross-cultural communication, active listening helps establish a deep connection with the patients (Satoh et al., 2020).
Self-awareness (Saad Alessa, 2021). Self-awareness helps nurse educators engage with their patients professionally. It also enables them to inculcate their nursing skills and knowledge in modifying the health outcomes of diverse patient groups. When engaging patients from different backgrounds at the point of care, nurse educators assess the needs of the patient and utilize their knowledge of illness and healing to modify the patient’s behavior, enabling healing and disease prevention (Khan et al., 2020).
Willingness to accept responsibility (Saad Alessa, 2021). Nurse educators maintain responsibility for their patients’ wellness. In their educational roles, they retain responsibility for their decisions and do not shift the blame whenever their ideas or choices fail. When implementing educational programs for disease prevention, nurse educators must be willing to own the outcome of their decisions. In this respect, they should be proactive in educating their patients on best practices in disease management and prevention to optimize their health and clinical outcomes (Khan et al., 2020).
Maintain organizational vision and consciousness (Saad Alessa, 2021). Healthcare leaders are the vision carriers for the organization. They spur innovations within the organization, inspire members towards positive changes, and ensure conformance to the organizational goals. Nurse educators maintain the organizational vision of improving the health outcomes of the patients. They educate patients and other providers on the best practices in disease prevention and management, perpetuating the overall healthcare vision of improving the care outcomes of the patients (Satoh et al., 2020).

The transformational leadership model provides a pathway toward effective operationalization in healthcare. In a dynamic healthcare environment, transformational leaders help shape the care environment by fostering meaningful collaborations among stakeholders, spurring innovations, taking responsibility for their actions, and inspiring member participation in organizational activities. In healthcare, nurse educators are better positioned to modify their patient’s behavior toward health maintenance, preservation, and promotion. They can employ a transformational leadership approach to ensure conformance with the organizational goals and vision of promoting health and improving clinical outcomes.

They can also establish meaningful engagements with their patients by actively listening to them. Through collaboration, nurse leaders can also leverage other caregivers’ expertise and provide the best care to their patients. It is thus essential that APNs, as nurse leaders, utilize the transformational approach in their services.
