Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility at Fullers Honey Company
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Fullers Honey Company’s hiring practices were not designed to achieve diversity, equity, or inclusion. The company should have sought employees from different backgrounds, genders, nationalities, and even physical abilities to promote the three aspects. To achieve this end, the inclusion of statements that highlight the company’s commitment helps achieve the three main elements of DEI. In addition, the company should have created deliberate recruitment targeted at balancing the gender ratio if the women are less than the men and vice versa. They should also create working spaces that accommodate individuals with physical disabilities. This commitment should also be communicated through the company’s values and mission statement (Kravitz, 2006). Such inclusion would push the company to identify clear strategies for achieving the same.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The company has minimal CSR activities. These activities are not discernible because they are not designed with the goal. Instead, they seem random making them challenging to identify. The company should create a CSR team that can identify aspects within the community to improve this. These issues will provide the company with tangible opportunities to influence the community positively. In addition, the company should involve employees by creating opportunities for participation. Accordingly, these opportunities should be present employees with specific dates to engage in certain CSR activities. In addition, these activities should be spaced out over the year to achieve consistency. Furthermore, my decisions did not affect these aspects because the company’s management did not raise issues related to CSR activities. In the future, the company should actively seek out these opportunities and strategize while setting aside financial resources and goals. Lastly, these activities confirm the entity’s commitment to CSR (Adda, Azigwe, & Awuni, 2016).
