Why I am Interested in Becoming an Educator

Why I am Interested in Becoming an Educator

Teaching is the profession that creates all other professions. Educators give lawyers, entrepreneurs, astronauts, etc. Without educators, there would not be Superman, the internet, or the great things seen today. Ultimately, tutors are the greatest superpowers who create superheroes. Therefore, my longing to create superhero children makes me want to become a teacher. Teachers are the backbone and role models of the current society. The manner in which teachers conduct themselves within the classrooms can greatly affect the learners. Thus, I want to be a teacher because I want to be with students and be able to impact them positively. I desire to be a positive role model, teach important life lessons, build my learners’ confidence, bring joy into class, positively impact them, and effectively teach them. Becoming a teacher will help me implement play-based learning that will bring games into learning and ensure I constantly keep a positive, safe, and welcoming outlook within my classroom. Accordingly, creating a positive, safe, and welcoming outlook within a school will help my learners enjoy learning. Play will help prepare my learners for a lifelong learning journey, which will assist them in enjoying life more, even in the future. While people perceive play as just walking or running up and down, as a teacher, I know that play-based learning will help my students gain vital skills such as problem-solving, confidence, collaboration, and social skills. All these skills will be valuable for them even in the future. Furthermore, playing will help motivate students to learn, and this will help them develop mentally, socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Thus, being a teacher will help me introduce play-based learning to motivate learners to love school.

Most importantly, I want to become a teacher because I have been passionate about teaching since junior high school. My mother, a retired teacher who was my biggest role model, inspired this career. She would volunteer to teach children around our estate for free during the holidays, an act that made me enjoy teaching. Since then, I have never looked back. I wish to use this gift to help others like my mother and prepare learners to do greater things. Ideally, teaching pulls everything that I desire to achieve. Teaching will fulfill the many reasons why I desire to become a tutor. By becoming a teacher, I will impact my students positively. I will become a positive role model. In addition, I will help students develop positive self-esteem and make learning enjoyable. I am truly happy about this career. Collen Wilcox once said, “Teaching is the greatest act of optimism.” Educators remain believers in the face of misbehavior, disrespect and in the absence of learner motivation. They still see the light at the end of the tunnel and strive to lead learners step-by-step, which is the greatest act of positivity.
