What Did You Learn
The three most important things that I learned during my course work include the types of advanced practice nurses, the roles of each advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), and the importance of holistic nursing services. The four types of advanced practice nurses are certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), and certified nurse practitioners (CNPs) (Adams & Markowitz, 2018). The educational requirements of APRNs include master’s and doctoral programs. Each APRN performs unique roles. Certified nurse-midwives discharge obstetrics and child health care services, whereas CRNAs provide anesthesia to patients (Tamura et al., 2021). CNS is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, whereas CNPs provide primary health care services. According to Hajbaghery (2018), holistic nursing services aim at fulfilling all of the patient’s needs. The needs can be psychosocial, physical, economic, or spiritual.
This knowledge will be useful for my future nursing practice. The knowledge enables me to know the job descriptions of each APRN. Accordingly, this is important for my specialization. It will enable me to discharge my duties diligently with minimal supervision. Furthermore, it will enable me to acknowledge the specialties and knowledge of other APRNs. By so doing, I will collaborate with them in my practice to ensure quality and relevant services are delivered to the patient. I will provide holistic nursing services that respect the differences between patients. These services will help create a good rapport with patients, promote compliance, and increase the patient’s quality of life.
I will utilize three strategies to ensure success in my master’s program. I will work in concert with my instructors to ensure that I understand my coursework. Essentially, this entails both theoretical and practical coursework. I will establish academic discussion groups with my colleagues. Subsequently, this will provide additional knowledge and a deeper understanding of the content covered in class. Also, the discussions will be scheduled to fulfill the needs of each member of the group. The third strategy is scheduling my activities to avoid time wasters. The schedule will prioritize urgent and essential tasks. Consequently, this will enable me to remain focused on the master’s program and ensure that I am successful.

Week 8: What Did You Learn
11 unread reply.11 reply.
The purpose of the graded collaborative discussions is to engage faculty and students in an interactive dialogue to assist the student in organizing, integrating, applying, and critically appraising knowledge regarding advanced nursing practice. Scholarly information obtained from credible sources, as well as professional communication, are required. Application of information to professional experiences promotes the analysis and use of principles, knowledge, and information learned and related to real-life professional situations. Meaningful dialogue among faculty and students fosters the development of a learning community as ideas, perspectives, and knowledge are shared.
Activity Learning Outcomes
Through this discussion, the student will demonstrate the ability to:
Examine roles and competencies of advanced practice nurses essential to performing as leaders and advocates of holistic, safe, and quality care. (PO 5) 1, 3, 5, 7, 8
Apply concepts of person-centered care to nursing practice situations. (PO1, PO2) 3, 7, 8
Analyze essential skills needed to lead within the context of complex systems. (PO2, PO3) 1, 5, 7, 8
Explore the process of scholarship engagement to improve health and healthcare outcomes in various settings. (PO3, PO4) 8
A 10% late penalty will be imposed for discussions posted after the deadline on Wednesday, regardless of the number of days late. Week 8 closes on Saturday. NOTHING will be accepted after 11:59pm MT on Saturday (i.e. student will receive an automatic 0 for any portion of the discussion not posted by that time).
Total Points Possible: 50
Application of Course Knowledge: The student post contributes unique perspectives or insights gleaned from personal experience or examples from the healthcare field. The student must accurately and fully discuss the topic for the week in addition to providing personal or professional The student must completely answer the entire initial question.
Engagement in Meaningful Dialogue: The student responds to a student peer OR course faculty to further dialogue.
Peer or Faculty Response: The student responds substantively to at least one topic-related post by a student A substantive post adds content or insights or asks a question that will add to the learning experience and/or generate discussion.
A post of “I agree” with a repeat of the other student’s post does not count as a substantive A collection of shallow posts does not equal a substantive post.
The peer response must occur before Saturday, 11:59 p.m. MT.
The peer response does not require a scholarly citation and reference unless the information is paraphrased and/or direct quotes are used, in which APA style standards then apply.
Integration of Evidence: The student post provides support from a minimum of two in-text citations with matching references. Sources may be course lessons, assigned readings, or outside scholarly sources.
Professionalism in Communication: The post presents information in logical, meaningful, and understandable sequence and is clearly relevant to the discussion topic. Grammar, spelling, and/or punctuation are accurate.
Wednesday Participation Requirement: The student provides a substantive response to the graded discussion question(s) or topic(s), posted by the course faculty (not a response to a peer), by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m. MT of each week.
Total Participation Requirement: The student provides at least two substantive posts (one to the initial question or topic, one to a student peer or a faculty question) on two separate days during the week.
