Video Presentation – Fall TIPS

Hello and welcome to this presentation on my role as the project manager during my DNP project implementation. As emphasized by the authors Rehan, Thorpe and Heravi in 2024, project management is a complex process that integrates diverse processes targeted at ensuring the successful completion of various tasks. In this session, we will review the DNP project on Fall TIPs, focusing on how, as the project manager, I was able to influence positive team dynamics. I will also evaluate the impact of team dynamics and performance on the desired outcomes.

Project managers remain accountable for the successful implementation of the project. They play a role in planning and organizing the project’s activities. Likewise, they guide the execution of various deliverables, ensuring the goals are met promptly, as pointed out by multiple authors including Irfan, Khan, Hassan, and Habib, writing in 2021. As the project manager for the DNP project on Fall TIPs, I not only experienced these roles but was also able to influence positive dynamics within the team, ensuring the desired outcomes were met.

Foremost, I established a communication channel to anchor all communication processes within the team. Through this pathway, I kept them informed of the project goals, progress, milestones met, and any challenges and opportunities encountered. Likewise, I was able to open and encourage a dialogue where members could voice their thoughts and concerns. These efforts fostered team commitment, ensuring the goals were met.

As the project manager, I was also able to influence positive dynamics within the team by fostering collaboration and teamwork. In this respect, I clearly defined each member’s role and responsibilities. Likewise, I ensured each member understood their role, minimizing potential role confusion and ambiguity that would otherwise derail the project, as guided by the authors Al Maalouf and Achi in 2023. I also empowered the team by communicating to them the significance of the project in improving safety and quality in healthcare and addressed any conflict that arose during implementation. This way, I kept the team glued to the project, ensuring the project goals were met.

I was also able to leverage my management skills to create a supportive environment for all team members. As the project manager, I recognized each member’s contribution to the project. In this respect, I provided constructive feedback to them and acknowledged and rewarded their achievements. This made the members feel valued and respected and likely influenced positivity within the team.

Positive team dynamics and performance remain integral to the successful implementation of projects. In the DNP project on Fall TIPs, positive team dynamics, and performance helped it attain its desired outcomes. Foremost, the project drew stakeholders from diverse healthcare cadres. It also pegged on the ability of all players to work together to ensure its deliverables are met. Positive team dynamics and performance helped ensure all aspects of the projects were successful.

To begin with, team collaboration during the planning phase ensured the selection of a compatible program to be implemented in the facility. This helped lessen apparent strains during the implementation phase that would have otherwise slowed the project. Likewise, as identified by the authors Al Maalouf and Achi in 2023, all the members involved were able to work together, integrating best practices in collaboration, such as information sharing, to ensure the successful execution of the deliverables. This streamlines all the processes, ensuring the desired goals are met. Transparent communication between team members also fostered an understanding of what was expected in the project, ensuring it was a success. In this respect, the project goals could be communicated in real-time to all members. Members also provided their feedback, identified possible improvement areas, and informed specific measures to take to mitigate any challenges encountered.

In conclusion, the DNP project highlighted the significance of project managers in project implementation. It also accorded me a chance to work with others, understand systems thinking, and influence positive team dynamics within the team. This ensured the project goals were met.
