Toy Description Summary

Based on the assignment’s instructions for creating a cost-effective, bright, and attractive toy that captures kids’ attention and stimulates growth, the idea of making a sensory bottle came to mind. A sensory bottle is a very economical and easy-to-make toy using common materials found around the house.

When constructing the toy, the key materials are a clear bottle, water, beads, glitter, buttons, ink, and glycerine oil. All the materials were within my reach, making it cost-friendly. The first step is to add clean water to the clear empty bottle, filling it halfway. A few drops of ink are added to the sensory bottle, which is then covered and shaken vigorously to create a uniform mixture. The bottle is uncorked, and glitter, beads, and buttons are added simultaneously. Then, glycerine oil is poured into the mixture, and the bottle is topped up with clean water. The mixture is shaken and left to settle. The clear bottle enhances visibility, allowing children to clearly see the movement of the items inside. The glycerine oil enables the contents to move slowly, while the beads and glitter give it an eye-catching quality, making it fun and capturing their attention. When the kids shake the bottle, the sounds produced are entertaining.

The sensory bottle is essential in a child’s cognitive development process, as the child becomes curious and attentive to understand the source of the sounds. The toy serves as a visual stimulator, attracting a child to the bright objects inside. Additionally, it enhances motor skills due to the movement of the items when shaken. The sensory bottle is durable; with proper care and management, a child cannot easily destroy it. Also, proper sealing of the bottle ensures safety for children, preventing the contents from spilling and causing harm.
