Every healthcare institution strives to provide the best possible care to its patients. Nursing informatics can help make this a reality with minimal effort. Nursing informatics is a broad concept that includes recent technological advancements in health informatics to facilitate faster and safer information sharing. To improve patient care efficiency, organizational leadership must adopt recent discoveries in nursing informatics. The following is a proposal on nursing informatics as a concept to gain an understanding of what it entails and its role in improving patient outcomes and efficiencies in patient care. The goal is to persuade the hospital’s leadership to include it in its projects.

The stakeholders who will be impacted by this Project

The Project would have a significant impact on the following stakeholders: the organization’s physicians and health care providers. They work to delegate responsibilities and carry out daily tasks in order to achieve better results. Employers are the second party; they are the people who own the organization and are responsible for ensuring that it adheres to its goals and mission. Third-party stakeholders are insurance companies. The Project has an impact on them because it saves them the trouble of compensating the organization for failures in its operations (Lubbeke, 2019). The Project’s primary beneficiaries are the stakeholders.

Other stakeholders include pharmaceutical companies that work with the organization to provide drugs and other supplies to improve patient outcomes. Furthermore, the government is the supreme authority, dictating the terms and conditions under which the organization may continue to operate. Most importantly, the patients come first, and the Project will work to ensure that the organization meets their needs. It includes improved outcomes, safer procedures, and high-quality healthcare in terms of speed and recovery (Lubbeke, 2019). The above parties are the Project’s primary stakeholders, and they will be impacted in some way.

The integration of nursing informatics in the organization will have the following impacts on patient outcomes. First, better documentation and patients’ medical history leads to improvement in that it facilitates faster and more efficient workflow, patient recording, and administration. Second, limited to zero medical errors, nursing informatics supports better efforts for nurses to avoid misdiagnosis, errors, and falls while recording patient information. It’s an improvement in that it is an electronic record system with minimal chances of errors compared to paperwork. Third, cost savings. Medical errors cost the government and the system massively. It is to be improved by recognizing the grounds on which errors occur with armed data such that decision-making will be easier and more accurate as possible. Fourth, improved care coordination allows nurses to coordinate with patients and other staff through an integrated system that facilitates more precise information. Such is crucial for advancing health care and the provision of better outcomes. The following technologies are best suited to implement the Project adopting nursing informatics in the organization. First, artificial intelligence (AI) works to advance health informatics by allowing for accurate diagnosis and identifying risk-condition. It is crucial in the sense that it is evidence-based practice and also a personalized care effort. Second, the cloud and data analytics facilitates sharing and storage of big data. Technology is crucial because it enhances more accessible communication and healthcare innovation. Cloud and data analytics are essential in that the organization is transforming into a large entity with massive patient administration. Third, wearables that work to obtain faster information in times of emergencies, doctors collect data easily and quickly to prevent loss of life. Wearables are an excellent choice for the Project given it is quicker and works with a real-time situation which is an added advantage for the organization. Fourth, interoperability is a safer database aiding in information sharing between relevant authorities at a distance. It is perfect because it is not limited to distance and time barriers (Mack, 2021). (Mack, 2021). The organization must obey the prospects of digital transformation, and it is realized with the technologies above, which work to enhance nursing informatics for the best.

The Project Team (by roles) and Incorporation of nurse Informatics in the project team

It is essential to have a project team that is viable enough to aid in enhancing better patient outcomes. Such a team will include; Director who coordinates and establishes the goals to be achieved. They are the overlords and work to ensure a project runs smoothly as possible. Second, the technical staff are individuals with vast knowledge of data collection and can work with surveys to collect data and report tasks to enhance patient outcomes. Third, consultants should advise the team on the best approaches and areas of concern to have better results. Fourth, the organization’s representatives work with external bodies such as other similar organizations and investors to represent the organization in various matters. And community representatives whose responsibility is to describe the community needs and advice on the best approach to dealing with the target community. The incorporation of nurse informatics in the project team will include the engagement of every team member in decision-making. The project team is crucial in running a project, and it should include a qualified team.

In summation, the healthcare industry is transforming significantly with technological advancement. Technological tools are being ushered in nursing informatics to advance nursing informatics for the best. It is upon the organizations’ leadership to match the world in the new era, a digital era in advancing health informatics. Such is crucial and comes with a quality team of stakeholders, adoption of advanced technologies, identification of the stakeholder to engage, and more so, definition of the patient outcomes and ways to adhere to them. The goal is to enable the organization to adopt best practices and work with integrated nursing informatics.
