Team Communication and Problem-Solving
Team communication and problem-solving are among the most compelling topics in the course. The topic equipped me with essential aspects regarding managing various issues surrounding team development and ensuring team goals are accomplished (D’Allura, 2019). Solving team problems is one of the most challenging aspects I have ever encountered, but with the topic, I think I am better positioned to solve the issues. Another compelling topic relates to the handling of team conflict. The topic helped me understand that conflict can be approached in two ways: embracement and avoidance. During the course, participation in discussions helped me to understand various subjects. Notably, this is so because discussions are a better way of sharing opinions and ideas through which you understand what other people think regarding the topic. Such participations evoke critical thinking regarding team issues and help accept other people’s perspectives regarding a subject. I was happy during the discussions when a fellow coursemate questioned the reasoning behind my assertion that conflicts should be avoided instead of being embraced (Elyousfi et al., 2021). Essentially, this opened my eyes to how embracing conflict can help propel a team toward attaining its set goals.
I have grasped all important aspects regarding communication and handling team issues. I think everything is clear, and whenever I forget, I will revisit it to equip myself with information relating to teams. I think a few approaches could have been used to yield additional valuable information. First, the discussions could have been made open without any restrictions. Notably, this could ensure that more thoughts and perspectives are shared among students. Second, there could have been a way of correcting some thoughts shared in the discussion that may not be accurate or misleading.
