Scholars argue that technology will greatly impact how nursing is practised more than other forces facing contemporary healthcare practice. The main concerns of technology integration into healthcare are limited usability and ethical and legal considerations of their use. Changes in the healthcare sector show unpredictability regardless of the same inputs as technology. In addition, the intrinsic barriers to applying predictability in complexity science in healthcare highlight the need to investigate complexity science in healthcare. Technological advances in health technology result in constant new ethical and legal debates (Gentili, 2021). These concerns arise from all levels: micro, meso, and macro levels. Involving stakeholders from all these levels in the healthcare sector is critical to ensuring the success of technological quality improvement efforts.

Continuous planning for possible future changes may be difficult, especially when the healthcare environment is static. However, the practice of nursing should not be reactive. Nurse leaders should always consider high-impact emergent technology in healthcare and anticipate how these changes will impact nursing practice. They should then develop educational models and programs to promote competencies that promote technological use that is ethical, legal, and effective for its purpose. Complexity science is founded on interdisciplinarity (Gentili, 2021). The implementation of the change model involves interprofessional collaboration for effective change control and acceptance. All scientific disciplines in the healthcare sector must cooperate to explore the strengths and opportunities of integrating technology into healthcare and minimize the barriers to effective change implementation.
