Study Plan
The results of my practice exam were a great eye-opener in my career as they outlined my strengths and weaknesses, which prompted me to develop a study plan. My strengths are medications. I can easily navigate clinical complexities requiring knowledge of medications. My weakness is, however, in diagnosing children. Despite having some knowledge in this area of study, I still feel like my knowledge is inadequate and that I don’t have confidence in tackling clinical complexities that may present and are covered in this area of study. To accomplish this, I have developed three SMART goals.
My first goal is to allocate more reading time for studying topics on pediatric psychiatric diagnoses while maintaining some time to study topics on medications. This will enable me to reinforce my knowledge of medications while boosting my knowledge of pediatric diagnoses. Another goal is to maintain discipline while studying and avoid any distractions that may present during study time. According to Hendrix (2022), learning ability is negatively impacted by the surroundings and should, therefore, be addressed to enhance the learner’s understanding. Another goal is to employ the use of diverse resources other than classical textbooks and lecture notes. Resources such as journals, grey literature, YouTube videos, and online case studies are valuable sources of information (Wilbert, 2022). I have allocated six hours of studying every day. Out of the 6 hours, I’ll spend 3 hours studying pediatric diagnoses, one and a half hours on medications, and another one and a half hours on any other topic. To measure my progress, I will allocate one hour every two study days to evaluate my goals and test my understanding of these topics through tests and quizzes adapted from online resources and the school library.

Online resources such as YouTube videos, grey literature, and online case studies will be the primary resources that I’ll use in my study. Additionally, I will engage in periodic discussions with my classmates. These discussions will also form part of my assessment as they will inform me about areas that I will need to stress while studying (Gogia et al., 2022). I will also use library resources such as past papers and lectures on these topics of interest.

Question
Reflect on your practice exam question results from Week 2. Identify content-area strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Also, reflect on your overall test-taking. Was the length of time allotted comfortable, or did you run out of time? Did a particular question format prove difficult?
The Assignment
Based on your practice test question results and considering the national certification exam, summarize your strengths and opportunities for improvement. Note: Your grade for this Assignment will not be derived from your test results but from your self-reflection and study plan.
Create a study plan for this quarter to prepare for the certification exam, including three or four SMART goals and the tasks you need to complete to accomplish each goal. Include a timetable for accomplishing them and a description of how you will measure your progress.
Describe resources you would use to accomplish your goals and tasks, such as ways to participate in a study group or review course, mnemonics and other mental strategies, and print or online resources you could use to study.
I took this test, and I scored 70%, but I think I need to study more and harder.
