Strategy Selection

Strategy selection refers to adopting the best method of achieving its set goals and objectives. A strategy to be selected should make the path toward obtaining organizational objectives clear. According to Henry (2021), a strategy provides a company with a sense of direction by creating a measurable action plan with clear milestones. Therefore, Apple Inc. should create a plan of action as the initial stage of strategy selection. For Apple Inc., the strategy selected should incorporate insights from the previous analysis using matrices such as the SWOT and BCG matrix. For instance, the strategy should entail enhancing marketing competitiveness through product diversification and taking advantage of the solid financial base. In addition, the strategy should have the maximum impact on investors. As a result, more investors will be attracted to the company to make an investment that will see the company taking on more objectives and achieving a competitive advantage in the market. Another essential element to consider in selecting the strategy entails reducing expenses incurred. The strategy should specifically target reducing marketing expenses.

Organization

Regarding the organization element of strategic planning, the company should have a clear organizational structure. Various advantages accrue to an organization for having a clear organizational structure. Notably, this is so because having a clear organizational structure gives each department a clear outline of target objectives that contribute to the overall organizational success (Desai, 2019). For example, Apple Inc. should consider setting an organizational objective for each department and the milestones for achieving them. The production and marketing departments should have clear objectives to reduce operating costs to achieve the overall organizational objective of reducing operational expenses. Another advantage that is attributable to a clear organizational structure entails proper communication. Essentially, this makes it easier to communicate the strategic goals to every organization member. Therefore, it is recommended that Apple Inc. create an organizational structure chart with objectives for each department.

Development Analysis

The last aspect covered is the development analysis. It is an important aspect that plays a vital role in creating and sustaining a new desired state. For the case of Apple Inc., development analysis will help build and sustain a competitive position in the market. Based on the matrices covered in the past, such as the Grand and BCG strategies, Apple Inc.’s development analysis should be focused on improving productivity and efficiency throughout the entire organization, enhancing innovation, and achieving better profit margins. Five stages should inform the company’s recommended development approach. These include 1) the entry stage, which focuses the company on target objectives; 2) the diagnosis stage, which investigates what should be done to achieve the targeted objectives; 3) obtaining feedback stage to outline solutions to problems to be resolved by achieving the objectives; 4) solution creating for the identified issues and; 5) evaluating the achieved outcomes to identify areas of improvement in the future (George et al., 2019). Overall, Apple Inc. should consider all the matrices covered and select the most effective strategic objectives to pursue.
