Society for Human Resource Management

Society for Human Resource Management

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) elevates the human resource (HR) management team and connects it to the organization’s business side. SHRM offers HR certification, and nurses may get certificates to succeed. The Society for Human Resource Management is an organization devoted to facilitating the requirements of HR authorities through conferences, meetings, research opportunities, and legislative advances (“Learn about the Benefits of the Society for HR Management (SHRM)”, n.d.). Subsequently, professionals will lead and connect processes within the institution, incorporate fundamental principles and moral practices, manage interactions to endorse the organization, offer additional advice to stakeholders, make business decisions, value all background perspectives, and communicate with stakeholders. It is also critical to recognize that personnel are the company’s most valuable asset (Chopra, 2017).

For that reason, the most significant component of how the SHRM aids HR in completing their responsibilities or duties and supporting leadership within the organization is employee recruitment and retention. Chopra (2017) recognizes that the economic market is quickly changing and that the organization cannot create excellent work without qualified personnel. This has been witnessed within the last two years, with numerous nurses quitting the bedside. There is no lack of nurses; instead, there is a shortage of working nurses. Hospitals must recruit unvetted agencies, travel nurses, or any warm person. There has been a significant increase in worker turnover due to higher-paying opportunities elsewhere and staff resentment of the institutions during the last two years. It has been a fundamental shift in the dynamic for hospitals and the remaining employees. Fortunately, many hospitals have collaborated with their leadership and HR departments to develop retention programs. Accordingly, HR must understand the company’s culture to compete with other facilities.
