Compare and contrast the various types of security typologies. Suggest a type of organization that would fit into each typology.

There are three types of security controls; preventive, detective, and responsive. On the one hand, preventive security secures the systems from any kind of attack, while detective securities identify any suspected security issue, and responsive securities correct security issues (Talbot & Jakeman, 2011). An organization that deals with sensitive data should have more preventive securities to avoid breaches of its system. Any business should have a detective and responsive system to detect any attacks and implement corrective action before the effects are drastic.

Defend or oppose the following statement, “It is unnecessary to implement long-term planning if strategic planning is already being implemented.”

The above statement is not true because it is necessary to have long-term plans for a business even when the strategic plans are already being implemented. Long-term plans are much more controllable than short-term strategic plans. Some strategic plans may only be applicable in a specific time period. For instance, customer preferences may change, and it may be necessary to change the plan to attract them.
