My proposal states that social media marketing has become an intimate part of everyday life. The presence of the world wide web has facilitated the widespread use of social media (Jamil et al., 2022). Compounded with the increased penetration of smartphones, most consumers today are likely to have a social media account (Jamil et al., 2022). Effective marketers will leverage social media to sway how users view products and services and subsequently influence buyer behavior. The research paper will focus on the popularity of social media, its applicability in collecting consumer views, and how social media networks are used as strategic marketing tools.
One of the paper’s main focus will be to show the popularity of social media. Social media usage is popular among the youth, with active users increasing daily (Jamil et al., 2022). Since marketing targets current and potential customers, the paper seeks to show how businesses can reach the vast audience on social media. The research will also delve into how social media has become a primary communication tool among people, cementing its effectiveness as a marketing tool.
The next section will focus on how social media networks are used as strategic marketing tools. In particular, the paper will investigate how the platforms are used as sources of information gathering regarding consumer interests. In the same breath, the paper will highlight how businesses leverage data analytics to understand customer needs. Different social media networks allow people to share views on a wide range of topics, which makes it possible for businesses to understand market gaps, needs, and satisfaction levels.
Finally, the paper will indicate the industries where social media marketing is most applicable. Some of the sectors where social media marketing is most used include tourism and hospitality, and fashion, among others. The section will show why companies should tap into social media to increase sales in their respective industries.
