Hello Whitney,

I couldn’t agree with you more. The immigrants in our country have contributed to the lowering of unemployment rates (Wheelan, 2010). The notion that Native Americans have of immigrants usurping the few available jobs is not only wrong but also unfair. When a low-paying job is available, and someone does not want to take it up, yet a particular immigrant is not only willing but happy to do it, who is to blame? The immigrant will make his money and pay off his bills while the one that shrugs off the job as too lowly will remain broke and unemployed. The one thing about immigrants is that they are driven by the need to survive and make a better life for themselves. If that means starting from the very bottom, then so be it. Most immigrants have better hopes and dreams for their children, and it is not uncommon to see first-generation immigrants struggling to make a better life for the second generation. And their struggles pay off for unlike their parents, second-generation immigrants are well ingrained in the American culture, can speak English, and often acquire skills to work better-paying jobs. Indeed, when the US economy invests in the immigrants, the benefits are for a lifetime (Ezekiel 47:21-23 so you shall divide this land among you according to the tribes of Israel. You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who reside among you and have had children among you. They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel. With you, they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe the sojourner resides, there you shall assign him his inheritance, declares the Lord God).
