Religion and Views
Religion is a significant aspect that affects worldview, from Buddhism to Christianity. People’s views of their own religion affect their views of other people’s religions. Religion is considered to be distinct, with people having different beliefs, religious practices, and denominations. For instance, religions morphed from one to another due to contrasting perspectives, which is illustrated in similar beliefs in some cases and common characters, such as Moses in Christianity and Islam. These contrasting religious perspectives influence how people view other people’s religions. Do you need help with your assignment ? Contact us at eminencepapers.com.
A significant aspect of religion affecting people’s views of other religions is the higher beings involved. Case in hand, Christians consider God their higher being; in contrast, in Hinduism, they have their gods and goddesses. A Christian’s view of a person practicing Hinduism might be critical because worshiping gods in Christianity is considered idolatry. Also, a person practicing Judaism might be skeptical of a Christian because, in their religious beliefs, the Messiah is yet to come, while Christians believe the Messiah already visited the world as Jesus Christ. Therefore, religion and its unique religious beliefs are vital in shaping a person’s view.
For example, as I was strolling in a park the other day, I came across an individual who identified as a Muslim questioning Christianity belief in a heated debate. The individual questioned how Christians believed in a God, who was apparently also a Spirit, and a Son, who was part human, a belief that didn’t make sense. This argument illustrates how the individual’s Islamic religious belief influenced their view on Christianity beliefs. In another example, encounters with Jehovah’s Witnesses reveal how their denomination shapes their views on other religions as they impose their beliefs on others of different religions.
