The current COVID-19 pandemic has enlightened me on the importance of having good business skills. A good number of businesses were shut down due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic. Still, some survived despite facing challenges such as reduced profit margins and limited operating hours due to curfew regulations. Reading different business articles that shared stories of businesses that survived the disruptions made me develop more interest in becoming one of the best business administrators that can be relied upon to secure the continuity of a business during a crisis. I reflected on the knowledge I have gathered in my business administration major and realized that I need more knowledge to gain the capability required to lead a large business. I, therefore, began researching the best business schools that offer scholarships to students interested in learning different courses.

Besides its proximity to where I live, the school offers a wide range of business-related courses relevant to business administration, such as finance, economics, accounting, international business, and human resource management. My greatest personal accomplishment has been opening a business that has been running for the last eight months. The business specializes in the sale of children’s clothes. I only focused on boys’ clothes during the initial business stages, but I extended my product line to girls’ clothes after sales declined due to COVID-19 disruptions. I am currently working on selling the clothes online to increase my customer base and profit margin. My long-term goal is to convert the business into a large children’s clothes brand operating globally. To achieve this, I need to gain knowledge and skills on how to run a business effectively, techniques I can use to maintain business continuity, proper accounting, and good human resource management practices so that I can hire the best employees who will help in improving the business’s performance. Your institution is, therefore, the ideal place for me because it will equip me with knowledge in these areas and expose me to a wide range of resources that will help me achieve my long-term goal.

My greatest educational accomplishment is studying business administration. I come from a humble background, and my parents could barely afford to pay my college fees which is why I had to spend some time working as a delivery agent and waiting tables to raise money to pay for my college fees. I am currently enrolled in another college where I am majoring in business administration. I, however, feel that the college is not a good business school for me because most times, the instructors only give us notes to read and submit chapter summaries. There is also limited learning engagement to explain various concepts in the handout. I am therefore having a hard time learning and retaining what I learn, which is why I want to transfer to your institution. I hope you will grant me the scholarship and become part of my journey to becoming one of the best business administrators and the owner of a successful children’s clothes brand operating globally.
