My name is Fatou Tyson. My preceptor is an MSN-prepared advanced practice nurse. My proposal for the course project is mandatory training and the use of technology in nursing operations, including communication and collaboration. The population of focus includes nurses, registered nurses, and advanced practice nurses currently working in the primary care clinic. The problem identified in the primary care settings is that, despite the facility implementing various records management and communication technologies in all care settings, a large number of nurses, especially experienced and elderly nurses, do not utilize such technologies. Their communication still relies on traditional methods, such as the use of handwritten notes and face-to-face communication. The main barrier to the use of these technologies is poor user proficiency and digital competence among the nurses (Brown et al., 2020). It is also a main theme obtained from the feedback. Other presented concerns are the privacy and security of these technologies.
