Emotions can change several times in a day, influencing how an individual feels. How people feel includes not only their emotional state but also their physical state. According to Adler et al. (2020), the connection between physical health and emotion is shown each time an individual experiences an emotion; because a type of emotion causes a given type of effect on the physical body. Accordingly, emotions are felt throughout the physical body, providing ways to regulate the impacts of emotions shown in physiological changes. Preventing the adverse impacts of emotions on physical health through several approaches, including exercising, ensures a balanced ‘body budget.’ Emotional stress causes numerous physiological responses, and therefore, some practices balance out the emotional stress by promoting physical health, such as healthy sleep routines; thus, a balanced ‘body budget.’ Do you need help with your assignment?
Emotions cause physiological responses, including the release of stress hormones. Consistently, physiological changes illustrate the effects of emotions on the physical body. Given that physiological changes are a response to emotions, emotional reactions can be balanced using physiological practices that regulate the given physiological changes. For instance, when an individual is angry, the body releases stress hormones, including adrenaline, which influence the heart rate by accelerating it (Wu et al., 2019). Reducing the heart rate through breathing exercises will regulate the physiological response to the emotion resulting in a balanced emotional state.
Accordingly, I think balancing out emotional reactions to the body works, as illustrated in the aforementioned example. Therefore, I agree with the statement, “If you keep a balanced ‘body budget,’ you’ll experience less emotional stress” because emotional reactions, such as physiological reactions, can be balanced through physiological practices that regulate the physiological reactions. Constantly practising physiological practices ensures emotions are balanced, illustrating a balanced ‘body budget.’
