Summary

During a morning routine, Sarah attempted to put on her shoes by herself. After several minutes of struggling with the Velcro and placing the shoes on the wrong feet, she looked up and exclaimed, “These don’t feel right!” She then took off both shoes, examined them, and said, “This one has a star—it goes here,” placing it on her left foot. She eventually got both shoes on correctly and ran to her mother, proudly stating, “I did it myself!” Her mother praised her effort, and Sarah smiled broadly. This event demonstrates growth in the physical and cognitive domains. Physically, she is improving her fine motor skills by managing shoe fasteners.
