Nursing Reflective Journal

Introduction

Nurses work in environments that are fraught with obstacles and challenges. It has enabled me to overcome obstacles in the healthcare system and provide services to people as a nurse. By examining the following areas, I have grown in both expertise and professionalism.

New methods to practice

Nursing has been increasingly diversified over the years. It is still relevant to me as a qualified nurse. For example, the adoption of evidence-based practice has proven to be quite beneficial in health issues such as heart attack, asthma, obesity, and diabetes (Kathryn, 2018). I’ve realized that nursing is a field rich in practices that support the utilization of empirical investigations.

Collaboration between professionals

As long as teamwork and work collaboration is maintained, a single case may require more than one group of experts from different specializations; it is a terrific learning experience. We cannot question the function of a nurse in leading the change and progress of health (Sullivan et al., 2015).

Clinical and healthcare delivery systems

Nurses are expected to demonstrate a far higher degree of service delivery in the healthcare sector, where accountability and openness are highly valued.

Healthcare and ethical considerations

Sometimes nurses face ethical quandaries relating to patient care. I realized how important it was to be familiar with the ethical climate and culture of the health facility where I work.

Disparities in Health

In today’s environment, health disparities are becoming an issue. Certain groups of people have access to better healthcare than others.

Health care policy

I’ve realized that such values aren’t fully accepted when doing various practices and providing treatment. In a traditional environment, patient safety studies have emphasized the review of histories in order to assess patient safety issues and demonstrate that new procedures will result in enhanced quality and patient safety.

Concerns about population health

Some research may strive to comprehend the correlation between socioeconomic status as a result of collection by stating fundamentally that individuals have a higher possibility of receiving better health care. This suggests that a large proportion of intellectuals and those with higher socioeconomic positions appear to be healthier. Status, in my opinion, exacerbates health disparities.

Economic modalism and leadership

Aside from developing professional skills, working as a healthcare officer has provided me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hone my leadership abilities. Furthermore, it has allowed me to grasp the context of the healthcare system, allowing me to fulfill my tasks within the healthcare system calmly and confidently.

Conclusion

Working as a nurse has been tough, but it has provided me with a wealth of information and experience. Ethical culture refers to how an institution deals with ethical issues and events that raise ethical concerns.
