How do you feel about completing your first BSN course?
More often than none, I have contemplated whether this was my true calling of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). However, after completing my first BSN course, I felt accomplished, relieved, and ecstatic. It is hard to fathom that six weeks went by so fast, but it did. Reflecting on the assignments we have had, they challenged me mentally and helped me refine my writing skills, gain a better understanding of what I should expect, and prepare me for future courses. This first course allowed me to share my thoughts with the instructor and classmates, who were all fantastic, talented in their writing, supportive, and kind. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Reading their posts, comments, and feedback permitted us to engage in positive dialogue, which helped increase my comprehensiveness of weekly content. Even though this is just the beginning of my journey, I can honestly say with confidence that I can do this.
What are your goals, and how do you plan to achieve them?
My short-term goal is to take each course in stride as well as complete them with excellence. However, my long-term goals are to obtain my MSN FNP degree and then advance from RN to a practising nurse in my current job working in family medicine. I am looking forward to achieving these goals here at Walden University. Even though there may be some challenging moments along the way, I will not let that deter me from progressing forward. However, utilizing all the incredible and vital resources provided to us as students will aid in my success. Thus far, the information within the first course was relevant to what I want to exercise as a nurse and future nurse practitioner. Overall, I want to make a difference in the healthcare field, so I need to increase my knowledge and develop more persuasive critical skills to incorporate during patient care. Ultimately, this will ensure that I will provide quality care to my patients for improved outcomes.
