It is thus important that the questionnaire integrates open-ended questions.

The level of measurement typically used in questionnaires includes intervals, ratios, nominal, and ordinal. The level of measurement that is most aligned with the research is the ordinal measurement. Ordinal measurements allow the categorization and ranking of data. In this respect, the participants’ responses will be ranked to determine their level of mental or physical wellness. This will allow the elucidation of the actual impact of insufficient management of pain on their lives.

Several scales can be integrated into questionnaires. These include the Likert and ordinal scales, among others. The Likert scales are the most preferred for addressing the research question. Likert scales measure individuals’ behaviors, attitudes, or opinions.

They are 5- to 7-point scales that measure the alignment of the participants’ response with the measured concept (Syyrilä et al., 2023). Data will be collected through a semi-structured interview. Questionnaires will be used to guide the interview questions asked. The individual questions will be adopted from the research question.
