Purpose

Nurse practitioners actively engage in the process of translating nursing knowledge into practice, thereby
establishing evidence-based approaches within the discipline. A theoretical
framework provides a meaningful context to guide and support evidence-based practice throughout this process. This assignment aims to identify a theory or model that can be used as a framework for a future evidence-based project during your nurse practitioner education.
Requirements
In Week 7, you will create a Kaltura presentation using PowerPoint. In Week 8, you will upload your
discussion to the threaded discussion and interact with peers in discussions related to their presentations.
Criteria for Content
Review the literature regarding issues or concerns within your selected nurse practitioner speciality.
Select a theory or model relevant to your nurse practitioner’s speciality and would offer a
meaningful context for evidence-based practice surrounding the issue or concern you identified.
In a PowerPoint Presentation, address the following.
 Introduction to the presentation
 Identify and describe a theory or model and explain its relevance to your nurse practitioner speciality.
 Describe an issue or concern that is related to your nurse practitioner speciality, and explain its impact on
health care outcomes
 Explain how the theory or model can be used as a framework to guide evidence-based practice to address
the issue or concern. Discuss the unique insight or perspective offered by applying this
theory or model.
 Conclusion to the presentation.

Preparing the presentation – Submission Requirements

1. Application: Use Microsoft Word 2013 to create the PowerPoint presentation.
2. Length: The PowerPoint presentation must be seven total slides (excluding title and reference slides). The
Kaltura’s presentation should be between 5-15 minutes.
3. Please use the Kaltura feature available in your classroom to record and submit your presentation.

4. Speaker notes should be used and include in-text citations when applicable. Submit PowerPoint with
speaker notes as an attachment to the Dropbox.
5. A minimum of three (3)scholarly literature sources must be used.
6. Submission: Submit your PowerPoint file to the Week 7 Dropbox.
7. Upload your Kaltura presentation to the Week 8 threaded discussion.
