I like having a routine as it keeps me grounded and able to complete the tasks for the day. I am also not a procrastinator, and I complete the day’s tasks within the same day where possible. Thirdly, I like to plan ahead, and hence, I read ahead for the following week’ chapters.
I am unable to plan for unanticipated interruptions in my routine, and so when they do occur, I find it challenging to adjust and accommodate the inconvenience and still stick to my routine. Another challenge is creating time to be with friends. I value my relaxation time on Sundays, and I believe I need to alter this to accommodate friends. The third challenge is my introverted nature, which may reduce my chances of interacting with my classmates and brainstorming or even having some fun. |

I think an online short course on time management and creating room for contingency will be effective in helping me plan for the unforeseen and to handle the same when it occurs. I will also need to create time for friends and classmates; this will mean learning to overcome my introverted nature and taking the first step in inviting friends for social meetings. |

Self-reflection is needed to grow and advance both personally and professionally. Honesty within yourself and your abilities is key to success. Place everything that you do in a day on this form. You may use colors, bold, different codes: whatever makes it easy for you to “see” what is happening on any given day. Be very specific and include all aspects of life, driving, sleeping, study time, self-care, shopping, eating, everything. When creating your timeline, be sure to account for time to retake any outstanding ATI proctored assessments. This is where you must “SEE” how you spend your time and how you can plan preparation for the ATI assessments and additional coursework. Being accountable for time and planning promotes success.
- Start with the first day of the quarter.
- Review your coursework responsibilities and prioritize.

- Finally, review the questions at the bottom of the calendar.
Answer honestly, with detail. Reach out to your faculty for guidance if you are struggling with time management in this last quarter. Identify members of your support system and share your success plan; ask for assistance with staying on track. This is the last hurdle of your educational journey, and creating a plan for success is the first step toward earning licensure as a registered nurse.
