Months of the Year Lesson Plan
Grade Level: Elementary
Age Range: 4 – 10
Purpose: Learning the twelve months of the year.
Target Vocabulary: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
Structure: Learners will use their feet, arms, and heads to exercise and engage in the music to learn the lesson objectives
Skills: Listening, reading, and singing
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, all learners should identify all the months in the year fluency
Time: 15 minutes

The teacher will instruct the students to stand on their feet.
The teacher will guide the learners to incorporate their feet, arms, and arms into the music. The teacher will write the months of the year on the whiteboard and introduce the song to help students learn and memorize the months. |
The introductory part aims to draw students’ attention to the learning objective. It also informs students of their involvement in the class activities. |
| Presentation & Practice

Initially, the learning activity will involve the whole class.
The teacher will request the students to sing the song while pointing to each month on the board as they mention the month in the song. Students will jog, clap, raise their arms, and nod when exercising the song. The teacher will then encourage group activity, where the students will pair in threes to identify the months using the learned song. |
Involving movement will promote each student’s activeness and participation in the learning activity.
Music is an effective teaching tool that helps learners to memorize ideas. Group activities will help students learn from each other’s skills in understanding and recalling the moths. |
| Closure
3 minutes |
The teacher will engage students in a question-and-answer activity, where each student will be appointed to identify a specific month in question. The teacher will point to a month randomly and ask, “What month is this?”
The students will lift their hands, and each one at a time, they will be given the chance to respond to the questions. The teacher will complement the learners for their participation in the learning activity. The teacher will also encourage the students to continue engaging in song. Further, the teacher will give the students writing assignments for all the months with the guidance of their guardians. |
The question-and-answer activity aims to assess students’ understanding and retention ability.
Continuous exercise will increase students’ retention ability. |

My professor wants me to create a Demo lesson plan that teaches kids a concept in another academic subject through a song with movement added. I want to teach them a song about the 12 months of the year. I found a song on YouTube that I would like to use to teach them the 12 months of the year. What I need you to do is create a demo lesson plan that shows that I’ll be teaching the 12 months of the year through a song. I’ll add the song below that I’ll be using to teach them the months of the year. The video does not need to be added to the lesson plan because I’ll be singing it and teaching it acapella. Also, the lesson plan does not need to be long either it can be short and straightforward forward but make sure the lesson plan is about 15 minutes and make sure it’s EASY TO FOLLOW be sure to add the time which is 15 minutes objectives, structures, target vocab. I’ll add an example of a lesson plan I found on Google you can look at to help.
