Previously learned concepts on letter-sounds will be paramount for effective learning and knowledge development. Words are made of sounds. Students will identify sounds in words such as sun, man, cat, dog, net, pet, among others, which will help them with the correct spelling of similar CVC words. The mini-lesson is significant in the students’ vocabulary building. Understanding how the sound of each letter contributes to word formation will help the students to form words and break down each sound in a given word. The skills gained will be relevant in their future learning journey. Students will interact with forms of words, including CVCC, CCVC, and other ambiguous words at their different learning levels. Hence, it is essential for the learners to incorporate the skills acquired throughout their academic journey.
