Linux Commands and Troubleshooting

There was a great deal of information I have learned from this course. If I were given only one choice, it would have to be Linux commands and troubleshooting. Although I have no previous knowledge of this platform, I have heard great things about the platform from friends and colleagues. Linus wasn’t too difficult to navigate and pick up once you start using it; you can learn it quickly. It reminded me of the good old days when I was messing around with MS-DOS. I never thought Linux had such powerful tools to handle a robust network with commands like ifconfig, TRACEROUTE, PING, and ROUTE, to mention a few (13 Linux Network Config. nd).

I valued the feedback and the discussion boards with my classmates. This allowed each individual to bring up ideas and visions regarding how they dealt with computer networking, from our first unit about IPv6 to VoIP, Linux, and Network Traffic and our last unit about Network security. All the units helped us grab onto our fast-paced information technical world.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I learned things by doing it hands-on. This is why I was more interested when we did hands-on in the unit with Linux and Wireshark.

Lectures are the primary type of teaching, and with only one lecture all week, I felt when I applied that instruction to an application, this is where I learned the most.
