Leader and Managers Roles in Evidence-Based Practice

Promoting and sustaining evidence-based practice (EBP) is essential for high-quality patient care. It also continually advances the nursing practice. To actively engage in EBP, I will take various steps in my role. Firstly, I will regularly review and stay up-to-date with research and clinical guidelines relevant to my area of practice. This involves subscribing to approved journals, attending conferences, and participating in continuing medical education. Knowledge of current evidence helps one make informed decisions about patient care (Johnson et al., 2021). Furthermore, I will cooperate with nurse leaders and managers within my healthcare facility. Effective communication and teamwork are important for the implementation of EBP (Kitson et al., 2021). I will actively seek opportunities to discuss EBP advantages, share best practices, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings. Evidence-based interventions will, therefore, be incorporated into the overall patient treatment plan.

I will also advocate for EBP within my department. This includes identifying gap areas in my practice. I will then work with my colleagues to address these gaps. I will encourage my fellow nurses to assess the value of research. They should also contribute to quality improvement projects based on EBP principles. By nurturing a culture of EBP, I can help ensure that the nursing practice remains current and relevant (Renolen et al., 2020). Additionally, I will participate in research activities whenever possible. This could be done by participating in research studies. I could also be involved in quality improvement projects and contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines. I can contribute to the growing body of evidence and promote EBP by engaging in research. Finally, I will regularly assess the results of EBP initiatives. I will assess their effectiveness and implement relevant changes to improve patient outcomes. I will play a crucial role in promoting and sustaining evidence-based practice by being actively involved in these processes. I ensure that I deliver the best possible care to my patients. Moreover, I contribute to the advancement of nursing practice as a whole.
