Part 2: Individualized Practicum Learning Objectives

Objective 1: To enhance my method of patient mental health assessment.

Planned Activities: To examine at least 80 mentally challenged people during the 11-week practicum timeframe to advance my understanding of efficient methods.

Mode of Assessment: Focused examination, which gives information on a particular body system linked to a patient’s difficulties, is the assessment method utilized to achieve the purpose.

PRAC Course Outcome(s) Addressed:

  • To recognize the necessary therapeutic contact with patients and establish professional limits in the workplace.
  • To measure a person’s mental state and interpret the results.

Objective 2: To determine suitable treatment methods for a patient’s treatment plan in a medical facility.

Planned Activities: I will look up and assess the relevant evidence-based approaches, talk to my Preceptor about the proper techniques to use in the workplace, and then put the ones we agree on into action.

Mode of Assessment: The assessment method for the second aim is through observation of the usage and application of evidence-based procedures.

PRAC Course Outcome(s) Addressed:

  • Create a list of suitable evidence-based techniques.
  • Apply these approaches to clinical treatment,
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance management.

Objective 3: To accurately assess a patient’s response to the care given and use the results to alter the therapy as necessary.

Planned Activities: I will monitor the people I care for, talk to them in an interview to get their opinions on the care, and then use that knowledge to create an appropriate treatment plan.

Mode of Assessment: This goal will be evaluated through observation.

PRAC Course Outcome(s) Addressed:

  • Create expert plans that enhance patient care delivery.
  • Examine the patient’s opinions to develop sufficient knowledge about care plans.
  • Correctly adjust care for certain patients.

Part 3: Projected Timeline/Schedule

I plan to finish the 144 or 160 practicum hours (depending on the situation) in the timeframe/schedule listed below. I also know I should assess at least 80 patients throughout my practicum. I might not finish my practicum hours any sooner than eight weeks. Without prior faculty approval, I cannot spend more than eight hours daily in the practicum.
