Improvement
Reflect on your where you want to grow and the strengths you want to further develop over the next year in regard to what you have learned in this class while keeping in mind your future career aspirations. What are 2-3 specific goals that you will set to better utilize your strengths and one way in which you want to grow in a needed area of improvement?
Based on my conscious introspection, growth is needed in my leadership practices. Exemplary leadership is dependent on the leader’s behavior rather than personality. I need to be able to model the way for others. Leaders must lead by example by possessing the traits they expect others to follow. The other practices are the ability to inspire a shared vision and empower others to act (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). This is important because it gives hope to other people and promotes the accomplishment of set goals. Growth is also needed in the ability to challenge the process. This provides an opportunity for innovation and improvement. Challenging the process involves risk-taking. Risk-taking enables a leader to learn from failures and establish the best strategy.
The strengths that I want to develop further are my communication skills, conflict resolution skills, self-awareness, and collaboration skills. Excellent communication is a powerful tool in creating harmony in the workplace (Díaz et al., 2019). It enables the leader to give instructions, set goals and objectives, and receive timely feedback from employees. Self-awareness enables leaders to identify their weaknesses and strengths (Deesomsak et al., 2016). It enables them to adopt the most appropriate leadership style that suits employees. Collaborative skills are necessary for negotiating business deals and when interacting with peers and subordinates (Díaz et al., 2019). A leader should be able to resolve a conflict promptly. Conflict resolution prevents escalation of the disagreement and improves coordination among employees. A peaceful workplace is necessary for increased productivity.
The first goal is to ensure that I have resolved more than five conflicts among my colleagues within the next year. The second goal is to evaluate all my weaknesses and strengths within the next year and determine the most appropriate leadership style that I can use. The third goal is to ensure that I have conducted at least three academic seminars within the next year. In the area of improvement, I want to be able to challenge the process. This will happen by looking beyond what is done routinely and identifying an opportunity for innovativeness. I will come up with a new or modification of a current procedure or task. The modification will be beneficial to my workplace.

Management
Kouzes and Posner (2012) argue that, “Improvement comes when you engage in conscious introspection. (See pg. 107) This requires you to reflect on your past, attend to the present, prospect the future, and feel your passion.”
