Implementing Evidence in Clinical Practice

I intend to implement my evidence-based findings by collaborating with patients, their families, physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers involved in patient care. Firstly, I will compare my evidence-based findings with the healthcare facility’s standard protocols and guidelines. This will enable me to identify existing information and resources that are harmonious with the evidence-based findings (Tucker & Gallagher-Ford, 2019). Secondly, I will present my findings to the healthcare facility’s administration, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members. By so doing, I intend to obtain their buy-in into the evidence-based practice (Tucker & Gallagher-Ford, 2019). For instance, physicians and pharmacists play a key role in venous thromboprophylaxis by ensuring that the right medications are selected in the appropriate dosages. Thirdly, I will engage patients and their families to obtain their buy-in. Finally, I will implement the findings and evaluate the impacts of evidence-based practice.

I anticipate various challenges. To begin with, colleagues and interdisciplinary team members may lack pertinent knowledge and skills to implement evidence-based findings (Dagne & Beshah, 2021). For instance, my colleagues and interdisciplinary team members may be unaware of the risk stratification strategy, ultrasound screening, and medication administration used in thromboprophylaxis. Furthermore, interdisciplinary team members may lack the motivation to implement evidence-based findings (Dagne & Beshah, 2021). Lastly, limited human and financial resources may impede the implantation of evidence-based findings (Dagne & Beshah, 2021).

I will overcome the anticipated challenges through various strategies. Firstly, I will organize training sessions to equip interdisciplinary team members with the necessary skills and information (Dagne & Beshah, 2021). This will be accomplished via face-to-face interactions and simulations. Secondly, I will engage the healthcare facilities administration and inform them of the importance and relevance of implementing the evidence-based findings. Subsequently, they will allocate adequate resources to facilitate the implementation of the findings (Dagne & Beshah, 2021). Some of the resources will be used to motivate interdisciplinary team members through reward systems.
