Hyperautomation
Among the three buyer factors, I am more interested in hyperautomation, which refers to the use of automation technologies to amplify automation levels in organizations and production plants, especially those using robotics. The technologies encompass Robotic process automation to high-level Artificial intelligence techniques, for instance, machine learning for data analytics. This technology aims to establish end-to-end automation with little to no dependence on human assistance.
The Rationale of Hyperautomation
Many organizations are faced with the inevitable reality of automating most of their processes due to mounting deficits they incur against their budgets. In effect, they end up accumulating debt to finance their operations. Labor accounts for vast percentages of many organizations’ budgets. Still, the resources are never fully maximized because humans, who are the primary workers in this structure, are susceptible to fatigue and emotional approaches based on how they feel. Hyperautomation provides a cheaper and more efficient alternative.
Based on Gartner (2021), the spread of COVID-19 necessitated a novel way of conducting business operations due to restricted mobility, and hyperautomation was quickly adopted. Digitizing most IT operations improved efficiency and productivity. The encouraging results from this scenario mean that many organizations are merging hyperautomation into their processes. It is vital in uncertain times and for the longevity of a business. Artificial intelligence used to automate low-level, redundant tasks ensures that humans can take care of more sophisticated activities requiring natural intelligence. In so doing, employees achieve greater work satisfaction because they handle more complex problems. It amounts to innovation in the workplace.
Hyperautomation provides a platform where people can work alongside artificial intelligence agents at a low level to more complex ones. Robots can be fed massive amounts of data and learn a process that happens in hazardous conditions for human beings. Organizations can, therefore, be assured of the well-being of their human resource.
Data is a massive part of hyperautomation because it is used to make informed decisions. Training bots and becoming more intelligent in independently executing tasks is also necessary. It serves as a better opportunity for organizations to incorporate hyperautomation as part of their long-term plan because the benefits are enormous in cutting costs and embracing disruptive technologies.
