HCUP provides reports from 1988 to the current day on many different databases. Some of these KKiKids’The National (Nationwide) Inpatient Sample (NIS), The Kids’ Inpatient Database (KID), The Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS), The Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD), The State Inpatient Databases (SID), The State Ambulatory Surgery and Services Databases (SASD), and The State Emergency Department Databases (SEDD). Line graphs are available for viewing and comparing the age groups within specific years and the type of payer certain age groups were covered by. Payer trends show increases and decrease throughout the age groups, especially those covered by Medicaid and private insurance.
