Frequency of an Electromagnetic Wave

Frequency of an Electromagnetic Wave

For Question 2, “Which below defines the frequency of an electromagnetic wave?” my answer was “A. A speed of wave/wavelength.” I answered Question 2 the way I did because of my knowledge about the electromagnetic spectrum and how electromagnetic radiation is expressed. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (2014), electromagnetic radiation is expressed based on frequency, wavelength, and energy. The concept of the electromagnetic spectrum is applied to determine the frequency of an electric wave based on the wave’s speed. The electromagnetic spectrum includes various frequencies, photon energies, and wavelengths with frequencies ranging between 1 and 1025 hertz. Electromagnetic waves are arranged and classified based on different wavelengths or frequencies to determine the speed of a wave. All electromagnetic waves travel at a similar speed across space, but their wavelengths, energy levels, and frequencies are different. Wavelength indicates the distance between equivalent points of the waves next to each other. Wave frequency includes the number of waves passing a fixed point within a specific duration. The frequency of the wave determines the energy of the electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves with a low frequency have less energy, whereas those with a high frequency have a lot of energy.

Interesting Facts about the Module

One of the interesting facts about the module was the use of simple language that anyone can understand. This made it easier to understand the concepts in the module. The module questions were also simple and prompted further research to understand the concepts in the module, thus making the module more engaging and interesting. The examples provided within the module were essential in understanding various astronomy concepts and how to apply them in the real world. Another interesting fact about the module was the use of examples that prompted experimentation, such as using a telescope to complete various experiments, thus making it easier to understand the concepts and phenomena being discussed.
